Competition Rules
- There is no limit to the number of entries you may submit.
- Images previously entered for WPPM awards are not permitted
- Entrants agree that any entered image may be used by WPPM in any of their printed materials, publications or electronic media.
- Images produced on photographic workshops/seminars are not permitted.
- Wedding and portrait images must be from commissioned work. All images should have been created/produced between August 2010 and August 2011. Images made using professional models are NOT eligible to enter into Wedding and Portrait categories, except for “Illustrative”; “Individual” and “Group” categories.
- By entering, the photographer acknowledges that employer, client and/or subject have copyright release or model release giving permission for the image to be published or exhibited in connection with these awards and that he/she is the author of the work as defined in the Design, Copyright and Patents Act 1988.
- Any entries, which do not conform to the rules, will be removed and no payment return.
- Contest credits applied for ONE (1) time print competition only, and cannot be use all year round. Example: if you have 10 contest credits, you have to use all for this round of competition and these contest credits cannot be use in other competitions within the year.
- The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Entrance may enter the same image in up to three (3) categories, but must submit a separate file/print for every category.
- Entrance must submit their entries with competition official form provided and can be download in WPPM website or Facebook page.
- The judges, if agreed unanimously, may transfer any image into a more appropriate category otherwise the image may deem unfit submission to a wrong category submission.
- WPPM reserves the right to remove from the competition any images submitted, which in the Association’s opinion, contravene on legal guidelines on public decency or which would bring the Association into disrepute.
- The Opening Date for the awards is 30th September 2011 (Friday)
- The Closing Date for the awards is 18th November 2011(Friday)
- Information revives at time of publication – WPPM reserves the right to amend any of the above without notice. See website.
Preparing for Entry
Entrants are required to submit in PRINT ENTRY coupled with digital file for each image entered in a CD/DVD. Digital file size must not larger than 4500 x 3600 pixel jpeg file for the final Awards that to be judge live during the Annual Awards & Convention in November 2011.
Each print must be of 40.6 x 50.8cm/ 16 x 20” size, and card mounted. Prints will not be returned. You may download the Competition Entry form from WPPM website or Facebook Page and must be place and paste on each of the back of your print entry.
Each entry must be sent in with your WPPM membership number ONLY (no names required). For example, if you are entering bride & groom together category, with 3 entries for the same category, you must send in 3 prints for the print competition and 3 digital files accompany your print entry. If the same images to be enter into 2 categories, you must submit 2 prints for each category and 2 digital files as well.
Entries must conform to the entry requirement procedures. Failing in do so will be consider disqualify.
You may use lamination or textured papers. You may not enter sheet metal, acrylic, fabric or wood, (etc) media. There are no restrictions on the type of process or paper used for the purpose of the print competition.

Enthusiast Member: RM10 per image/entry
Student member: RM5 per image/entry
Please note:
- (eg. Entry of the same image into three (3) different categories; will be charge 3 times, ie. RM75 in total.)
- Payment must be made upon submitting your print entry. You must fill up only ONE payment form only and all details must be filled up upon submitting. (Please download the form from the website and FB page)

1) All judging will use scorecard to score for each print. Judges are allowed to debate and discuss his/her points of opinion on the print and allowed to walk forward to have a close look of the print before scoring the print. We encourage the discussion on the print to allow entrants to understand the strength and weaknesses of their prints and the reasons how their prints are scored.
2) Judges may enter their prints for competition, but are not allow judging in the category that his or her print(s) has entered.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: JLS will be busy on the coming weekends: 11 – 12 November and 18 – 19 November. If anyone wishes to send in their prints on those days mentioned, please contact your state ambassadors. Their emails can be found at the HERE.
