There are a lot of people who are in love with the ocean. Some have a certain interest in marine life but most are just drawn to the ocean similar to how some people find joy in body piercings. Being someone who is drawn to the ocean myself, it’s just a sense of calm when you are near the ocean or swimming in it. The light sea breeze caressing your skin and the sounds of the waves crashing can be very soothing. Of course, it’s not like this for everyone. Different people have different things that help them calm down. Some listen to music, some clean and some visit a pool for a swim.
Swimming can be a calming experience, however, diving is on a whole other level of calming and exciting at the same time. You get to swim as well as enjoy the view of the ocean life. The beautiful corals, colourful marine life and just the vast opening of the ocean. So, let me share with you a few fun facts about the ocean.
Fun Facts About The Ocean
First of all, did you know that the ocean covers more than 70 per cent of the Earth? Funny how our planet is called Earth when it’s actually mostly water. Because of this, it comes without saying that a majority of the Earth’s living beings are marine life. The scary part is that a lot of these living beings have not even been discovered. Only less than 5 per cent have been discovered. That’s the big question with everything about the Earth, really. Should we investigate further and discover further? It’s a big question because evidently, anything humans discover gets ruined most of the time. For instance, in Malaysia, there were a lot of beautiful rivers and now they are either polluted or don’t even look like rivers anymore. So, it is really necessary for people to explore more of the ocean?
Other than that, another fun fact about the ocean includes the fact that there are a lot of the world’s historical relics that are at the bottom of the ocean. More than in any museum. Take, the Titanic, for example. It has been in the ocean for years now and apparently a certain bacteria in the ocean is slowly eating it. Sooner or later, the iconic and tragic ship is going to no longer exist. There are times that you would get to see these relics when you go diving, thus, here is the experience of diving:
Diving or scuba diving is not as easy as it sounds but when you get the hang of it, it becomes a fun and exciting experience that can definitely boost your dopamine levels.
